Avondale Market

Yesterday I went to the weekly Avondale sunday market, here in west Auckland. It’s a mixture of bric-a-brac and fresh produce.

The produce area of the market is huge and packed with all sorts of gorgeous ingredients: organic homegrown kafir limes, fresh tofu, all manner of dried goods, mangosteens, juicy spring onions, and chubby ginger roots from Fiji.

How cool are these carrot carvings? So clever. I love the old fisherman with the fish he’s just caught.

Oh, I loved Avondale Market – unforgettable experience. The two little Japanese saki cups sit on my kitchen windowsill, and I have fond memories of the blue potatoes! X
