I didn’t do a Monday’s Inspiration post this week, but I did pick a card and I want to share it with you now (even though it’s now Tuesday – Oh, actually Wednesday morning now, according to my clock! Time for bed!).
Gratitude
I am grateful for all the gifts life gives me
even those I don’t yet understand
It’s been a painful week in our family and this card feels like a sweet gift to my heart. It reminds me to notice all the many blessings in my life and also, that even in dark moments there may be gifts that we can’t see yet but which will reveal themselves to us as events unfold.
So, here’s a list of the things that I’m grateful for right now (in no particular order):
For wonderful family, near and far
For being loved and cherished
For two crazy dogs who are always happy to see me
For a warm fire and snug house on a wild and stormy night
For a wonderful email from a friend I haven’t seen for years (hi Deb!)
For being forgiven when I let others down
For a good friend to phone up and cry to when it all gets too much
For singing!
For laughter and praying mantises
For macaroni cheese cooked with love by my man
For my teenage nieces (I’ll write back soon!)
For TOAST catalogues arriving at the perfect moment
For dreams of Morocco
For lovely travel agents when you need emergency flights
For “coincidences”
For thunder and lightning
For Reiki hands to soothe anxiety away
For inspiration and beauty
For THXTHXTHX: a thank you note a day for always making me smile
For Hawayo Takata for reminding me to “count my blessings”
What are you grateful for today? I’d love to hear your list of gratitude.
Have a great week.
Lucy xx

It’s actually good to remember to be grateful – it pulls us up short when we get bogged down in feeling sorry for ourselves! I’ve been feeling overwhelmed with things and only looking at the things I find hard or “negative” – so this thought was good for me today.
I’m grateful for:
For the safe delivery of Arabella and for having such good friends in the Feltham women
For my new niece Isabel
For the health of my grandparents
For my family
For my friends who I know love me even though we don’t see each other that much at the moment
For having a job when so many others don’t
For having a partner who is 100% supportive and loving
For living in Aotearoa
For being warm inside and listening to the rain
For remembering to breath through the stress
For my ancestors
For being able to appreciate wonder
For dreams of Tonga
I’m grateful for so many things but uppermost among them is finding welcoming and creative places to visit like your beautiful blog.
Lucy, you are an inspiration! – Thank you for reminding me to ‘count my blessings’. I’m a little too tired to work productively today, but a few moments in Reiki contemplation of gratitude is sure to salvage my day. I can’t wait for your online shop to be up and running! love love love to you my dear! xxxxx
I am grateful for:
-the small details in nature that draw me in and make me feel connected to life and forget myself
-a dry home and roof over my head in these blustery Autumn days
-the blessing and relief of spiritual wisdom and resort in my life
-the BEST and most loving mum in the world
-a large family full of amazing individuals
-singing and playing the ukulele with my good friends every wednesday night (so good to shake the stresses of the day off and just have FUN!)
-the inspiration that my beautiful talented friends bring, with all their gorgeous endeavors and their striving to really follow their hearts
-driving along the motorway with Luce after choir, singing and laughing
-my parents’ good health
-the fact that I am no longer working a fulltime job that bores me to tears!
Thanks for the chace to write this list! It is so useful for my attitude!
love you luce xxx
